Men’s Book Chicago hosted their issue release party last week in the penthouse of the Ritz Carlton Residences. We loved the view and it made for some fabulous photographs including a few with special guest, Chris Klein! Victor Carreon of Cage and Aquarium set the vibe with some fantastic tunes. We enjoyed partnering with Pure Kitchen Catering and Art of Imagination for this one-of-a-kind event!
We are beyond excited to co-host Gimme Shelter with four of Chicago’s top DJ companies. On May 22 Cage + Aquarium, Fig Media, Okyne Medialab, Style Matters and Toast and Jam are all coming together to commemorate the one year anniversary of the EF5 tornado that struck Joplin, MO.
We’ll be throwing a fantastic party at Gallery 1028 with a showcase from each DJ company. The VIP hour from 6-7 pm is not to be missed. Besides the VIP food and drinks, there will be a breakdance performance by the Sour Apples Crew on a lighted dance floor (provided by Creative Expressions). The fun will continue throughout the remainder of the evening and all party goers are supporting a phenomenal cause.

The Chicago Green Wedding Alliance hosted “Raise a Glass for Earth Day” to celebrate with the Chicago event industry at the gorgeously colorful Catalyst Ranch. Justin Ferranti from C+A kept a relaxed vibe as party-goers mingled and enjoyed appetizers and spirits from Pure Kitchen and FIG Catering.

Nora and Kevin have a passion for their tandem bike…so it was only appropriate we bring it along for their engagement photos! We met up at their apartment in Ukrainian Village for a few photos on the rooftop of their building where Kevin proposed. Then we headed over to Humboldt Park for the remainder of the session. They are both teachers at nearby schools and lead bike clubs after school for their students in Humboldt Park, so it was a great fit for the photos! We can’t wait for their wedding at Gallery 1028 in June!
We met up with Lauren and Cyril for their engagement session on a recent trip to San Francisco. They are getting married in Chicago, but recently moved to the Bay area. We were so excited to be able to photograph the engagement session in some beautiful San Francisco spots including the Presidio, Palace of Fine Arts and Baker Beach. We can’t wait for their wedding at the Oak Brook Bath and Tennis Club this August!
On Friday, April 13 Cage and Aquarium hosted their first live music showcase at the Darkroom in Chicago. There was a fantastic lineup of bands including Barmey Vishnu Ung’s full band, Kmang Kmang, DJ Moppy’s band, Beyond Luck and Taras and Mike’s full band, The Heard. Daniel Demchuk and Ephraim Cuellar deejayed between sets. It was a blast and we can’t wait to host another live music showcase with our talented musicians!

We were honored to be a part of CS Interiors Spring Issue Celebration at WPA Chicago last week. Justin Ferranti of Cage and Aquarium DJed for the guests as they mingled and sipped cocktails with Veev liquer. Not only do we get to provide a service that no one else can for our clients (typically our clients book live music for an hour during cocktail or dinner), but our relationship with live music helps define what is important to us.
